Race report for Round 3.

Today marked the third round of the Winter Worlds  F2P series, and what a race day it was! We welcomed 106 riders to the start line, reflecting the ever-growing spirit of our community. A special shout-out goes to our sponsor, Lee Hatton, who initially joined the action in C Grade before gracefully transitioning to support D Grade – exemplifying the sportsmanship we cherish!

Our No Drop Grade, teeming with fresh faces, highlighted a robust turnout, showcasing that Winter Worlds is a welcoming arena for newcomers and veterans alike. The weather was incredibly cooperative, boasting a balmy 14°C and not a whisper of wind, creating perfect conditions for the riders to showcase their grit and grind.

The Development Grade kicked off the racing with a pace that's getting sharper by the week. They wrapped up their efforts with a thrilling sprint finish, some close quarters action keeping everyone on the edge of their seats – yet, all stayed upright and crossed the finish line amid roaring cheers.

The serene start to the No Drop ride turned competitive on the homeward stretch, where the riders spared no effort in challenging each other, a testament to the fiery spirit of this group.

A Grade, B Grade, and beyond showed fantastic cohesion and competitive spirit, the lack of wind allowing tight bunch finishes and tactical racing. The young guns in various grades brought a fresh dynamic, challenging the pecking order and adding an extra layer of excitement to the races.

Wrapping up the day, our prizegiving at the Flaming Rabbit was nothing short of fantastic. Most riders rolled back to celebrate the day's efforts and achievements, with nearly all podium spots filled by deserving athletes, cheered on by their peers – the hallmark of our close-knit community.

Let's keep this incredible energy rolling as we look forward to Round 4. Remember, it's not just about the race; it's about pushing limits, sharing moments, and celebrating our collective passion for cycling.

Ride hard, stay safe, and see you all next Sunday for another thrilling ride!
