Winter Worlds is back — and this year we’re starting with something a little different.



Sector Six brings short, fast Tai Tapu laps with one 750 metre gravel sector each lap, before the main Holmes Solutions Road Racing Series rolls into the classic July block

As the mercury drops, it's time to gear up for the Winter Worlds Road Races 2026!This iconic series has been a staple in the Christchurch cycling calendar since the '90s, offering a casual and inclusive racing experience that keeps your legs spinning through the colder months.

Race Day!

Short laps. Fast racing. One gravel sector every lap.


Before the main Winter Worlds road series kicks off in July, we’re testing something a bit spicy out at Tai Tapu.


Two June races. A fast 5.5 km lap. Mostly tarseal. One 750 metre gravel sector each lap.


Road bike or gravel bike? Your call.
Tyre-pressure opinions? Sadly unavoidable.

  • 44 km’s of flat-out fun, No Drop 28ks & Development Grade is 14km
  • 7 Grades. Elite, A, B, C, D, Foundations Grade [Formerly known as No Drop] & Development Grade.

Anyone with a Bike!

  • Open to anyone with a bicycle in good working order & over the age of 15 years.
  • No requirement for club membership or racing license.
  • All grades are open to anyone with a bicycle in good working order & over the age of 15 years. First-time racers welcome -  Or ride the 12K Development grade (open to all ages including under 15 years).
  • We strongly advise all U15 riders wear a hi-vis vest while racing.

Fees & Payments

  • $25 senior online  or on the day
  • $15 junior [Under 19]

Where You're Going

  • The Winter Worlds course is flat, fast and easy to follow. Major intersections are controlled by marshals.
