Winter Worlds Race Info 2026
Everything riders need before they roll to the line: grades, entry, course maps, updates, race dates, and the odd gentle reminder not to leave it until Sunday morning. Classic cyclist behaviour, obviously.
Road Cycling For Everyone
Winter Worlds is open-road racing with a friendly edge: proper bunch racing, simple grades, and a place for everyone from seasoned hitters to riders giving racing a first honest nudge.
The racing
- 44 km main race distance.
- 28 km Foundation Grade.
- 14 km Development Grade.
- Seven grades: Elite, A, B, C, D, Foundation and Development.
Who can ride
Open to anyone with a bicycle in good working order and over the age of 15. No club membership or racing licence required.
The Development Grade is open to all ages, including under-15 riders. We strongly recommend U15 riders wear hi-vis while racing.
New to racing?
Brilliant. That is exactly what Development and Foundation Grade are for. You do not need to arrive race-hardened, aero-optimised, and making mysterious comments about tyre compounds.
The Basics
Keep this bit handy. It is the difference between being calmly organised and arriving with one glove, no number, and the emotional stability of a dropped chain.
Where
The regular Winter Worlds course is out at Lincoln, racing from Springs Road. Major intersections are controlled by marshals.
When
Sector Six runs on Sunday 7 June and Sunday 21 June. The five July/August Winter Worlds rounds run from Sunday 19 July to Sunday 16 August 2026.
Number pick-up
Race number pick-up is TBA, from 1.30pm to 1.50pm each Sunday.
Updates
Cancellations and delayed starts will be posted on the Facebook page and Facebook group by 8am Sunday.
Race dates
Two Sector Six gravel races in June, then five Winter Worlds road rounds through July and August.
Entry Fees
Simple pricing. Enter online, turn up with a working bike, and save your best excuses for the post-race debrief.
Senior entry online or on the day
Junior entry for under-19 riders
Before you race
- Register and enter online where possible.
- Pick up your race number before racing.
- Read any Facebook updates before travelling.
- Listen to the briefing and follow road rules.
- Bring a bike in good working order. That includes brakes. Revolutionary stuff.
Course Maps
Two flavours of winter fun: the regular Lincoln road circuit for the five Winter Worlds rounds, and the Sector Six gravel loop for June. One is fast and tidy. The other adds a wee bit of crunch.
July/August Winter Worlds Course
The regular Winter Worlds Lincoln course is flat, fast and easy to follow. Use this map for the five Winter Worlds rounds from 19 July to 16 August.
Prize Giving
Racing is better when there is something on the line. Points, spot prizes, series rewards, and enough little carrots to keep everyone chasing right to the finish.
Standard Points
Finishers in each race earn points towards their series total.
- 1st place: 7 points
- 2nd place: 5 points
- 3rd place: 4 points
- 4th place: 3 points
- 5th place: 2 points
Bonus Points
Golden lap bonuses, weekly points opportunities and consistency rewards keep the racing lively from start to finish.
Basically, do not assume the race is over just because someone has ridden away looking annoyingly comfortable.
Spot Prizes & Series Rewards
Race-day rewards can include podium prizes, spot prizes and sponsor-supported giveaways.
The final series rewards consistency, competitiveness and the admirable ability to turn up in winter.
Ready To Race?
Enter online, check the course, join the Facebook group for updates, and come have a crack. Nervous is normal. Not entering because you’re “waiting to be fitter” is just cycling’s favourite bedtime story.
